CHAMBER MEMBERSHIP puts Your Business in front of the community! The Lapeer Area Chamber of Commerce processes hundreds of inquiries each year requesting information about various products, services, and professions throughout the entire county. Your membership means that your business is referred to first. Our motto “Do Business with Chamber Members – They Support Our Community,” is reinforced by our policy to refer to and promote Chamber members first.

BUSINESS DIRECTORY & COMMUNITY PROFILE: We publish 5,500 hard copies of a full-color Lapeer Area Business Profile Directory of our members. The Business Directory is a favorite with residents, Realtors, visitors, and/or newcomers to our community. Chamber members only have the opportunity to advertise in our directory. This important marketing tool is distributed throughout Lapeer County each year to members, libraries, medical facilities, banks, hotels, credit unions, and other community businesses. This includes 12 months ad on our Chamber website (full-page color ads) Chamber Facebook page, and Chamber Social Media.

 

This program puts NEW MEMBER COMPANIES out in front of the community and fellow members with several fast-paced efforts!

  • We prepare an article about your company for our monthly electronic newsletter.
  • When it best meets your marketing needs you can insert a flyer (4-color, jpg format) about your business in our electronic newsletter.  You pay only $50! A one-time $25 savings (electronically mailed to over 500 contacts, posted on our social media page and also on our website.)
  • You receive a lead list of chamber member companies in the form of an Excel spreadsheet. You can use this prospecting tool to send your company brochure and a business card out to fellow business owners. Promote a new product line, new location, grand opening, business or charitable event!
  • New members are welcomed to the Chamber on the home page of our website during the month they join in addition to your listing in our online member directory.
  • Announced on our Facebook page(s) during the month they join.
  • New members are also announced on our Chamber View page in the LA View newspaper.

Annual Chamber Membership Directory and Community Profile Guide – A four-color printed guide to member companies and community information and 5,500 are distributed throughout the county during the year.  Directories are distributed through hotels, medical facilities, library systems, banks, credit unions, etc.

Newspaper Visibility – Members are featured on our monthly ChamberView page in the LA View Newspaper.  Reaching every household in Lapeer County.

E-Newsletter Advertisement – Advertisement Opportunities in our monthly E-Newsletter to promote new products, events, locations, etc.

E-Newsletter – Each month we publish our newsletter to our membership and also share our news with the community through our social media and post the link on our website.

Website Presence – Our members are promoted through the membership directory on our website by company name and by business category.

Website Calendar of Events  – Lapeer is a vibrant and active community.  We utilize our community calendar to share events with our residents and to attract visitors to Lapeer.  We share our member events and community events with the community through our community calendar.

Website Advertising – For a nominal fee, members can purchase ad space on our website.  Ads appear on each page throughout the site.

New and Renewing Members are announced on our social media pages, featured on our website, in our newsletter, at our bi-monthly networking meeting, and in our local newspaper.

Social Media – We utilize the growing popularity of social media to promote our members, events, and Chamber news.

One of the ways our member businesses support one another is by utilizing each others services. A Member-To-Member Discount Program, with many businesses offering special discounts to Chamber Members, is a valuable benefit to our members.

Member companies and their employees use the Chamber key tag to identify them as members, giving them access to a variety of discounts offered to our members from other Chamber members.

Open to your staff & employees! Our key tag will identify your employees as chamber members when shopping with member companies who participate in the member-to-member discount program.

Beginning May of 2022, the Office Depot Business Solutions Division is reemerging with a new name – ODP Business Solutions Customers who previously used business.officedepot.com will automatically be routed to the new and improved website – odpbusiness.com. This will be a seamless transition for our affiliates and their members – no further action is needed.

For those of you who currently shop in-store at an Office Depot/Office Max™ with a digital or physical store purchasing card (SPC), you can continue to do until the end of the year.  However, the cards can no longer be used for account billing at the store.  You will need to use a CC, Cash, or Check for payment at the store.

The Chamber hosts a variety of networking events providing our members opportunities to develop new business, support existing business and rekindle past business relationships.

Network at Noon is a casual lunch setting for members to connect and network. Members are given time to introduce themselves and talk about their company. Business cards are exchanged among participants.  Many of our members bring door prizes to be raffled.

After Hour Mixers are another great, casual face-to-face networking opportunity. These events are co-sponsored by the Chamber and the hosting location.  Much the same as our Network-at-Noon, members enjoy dining in a relaxed atmosphere while meeting new members.  Each company introduces itself, exchange business information, business cards and promotional items.

We all know that referrals are an important aspect of business growth.  “Word of Mouth” advertising from a trusted source is invaluable to businesses.
