Legend of Sleeping Bear: A Michigan Treasure at the Pix Theatre
Join the Lapeer District Library’s Marguerite deAngeli Branch at the Pix Theatre (172 W. Nepessing St.) for Sleeping Bear: A Michigan Treasure, an award-winning animated short film inspired by the Native American legend behind Sleeping Bear Dunes. The program will take place on Saturday, June 14, at 2:30 p.m. This special event features a screening of the film, a live speed painting that captures the magic of the Sleeping Bear story, and an opportunity for attendees to participate in the Signature Painting Project—a collaborative artwork made up entirely of signatures from the audience.
This interactive, all-ages program celebrates one of Michigan’s most beloved natural and cultural treasures, offering an unforgettable experience through storytelling, art, and history.
This program is free to attend. Registration is required through the Pix Theatre. For more information or to reserve your spot, visit www.pixlapeer.org or call the Pix Theatre at 810-664-4824.
