Tony Diodato, who still oversees Cypress Computer Systems product development, is a founder of the company which was formed in 1983 in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Cypress became recognized for custom security solutions in 1985, when Diodato was approached by Michigan’s GM Tech Center to custom-engineer a solution for badge readers, a device later known as the Suprex® supervised reader-extender. The company was relocated to Michigan in 1992.
Since then, Cypress solutions have been installed in thousands of security systems worldwide, from modest installations to multi-million dollar public and private systems. Using Cypress components has saved companies thousands of dollars and increased system efficiency.
Along with designing and manufacturing access control and data devices for physical security and logical security markets, Cypress Computer Systems provides OEM and ODM services to manufacturers.
