Lapeer Medical Associates PC provides prescription refills, HMO or PPO patient referrals, and medical records to the Lapeer, MI area. Lapeer Medical Associates started out of a necessity to provide better personal care for the patients in our community. Four physicians from Lapeer made a calculated decision to break free from the grip of the large hospital to open up a private practice. Being private gives us the ability to put patients’ healthcare first, not be market driven, and provide comprehensive healthcare and do the most for patients in house as a patient centered medical home. From humble beginnings, Family Practitioners, Timothy Piontkowski, Albert Smith, Jr. and Mark Braniecki, a Pediatrician started in a 1000sq ft office with bare essentials and a shared doctors office the size of a residential bathroom. We bided our time in Oxford due to a 2 year non-compete clause that kept us from directly working in our community. 10,000 loyal patients willing to make the 30 minute drive reassured us the sacrifice was worth the cost. In 2001, Curt Coulter joined the group and the family practice began to operate in Lapeer. We developed a medical building in accordance with Genesys PHO and then later in 2013 added a 5000 sq foot addition. Along with adding two physicians and other providers we grew our practice and developed it into what it is today. We have five physicians and three mid-level Nurse Practitioners in the clinic each having their own unique style of practice. For 22 years we have tirelessly worked to develop our current practice and adapt over the years with the ever changing face of medicine.
