What started in 1839 as one of the first farms in Mayfield Township, Michigan, has now turned into a cultural staple in eastern Michigan. Since we opened Past Tense in 1971, we’ve taken our 19th-century Victorian-style farmhouse and the other buildings at our farm and turned them into an 11,500 sq ft country store selling local goods of all kinds — furnishings, gifts, and home decor included.
