The ‘Young Musicians Community’ is a FREE program that promotes ‘ACCEPTANCE THROUGH MUSIC’. Our mission is to provide the FREE training of God’s gifts of music to ALL children of all ages, all
races, all social statuses, and all physical handicaps for the benefit of their self-value and confidence to help them enter the world as an adult with skills that will benefit them their entire lives.
The Young Musicians Community gives kids the power to break down social barriers! As YMC members, students become active musicians in our band, 3RD° BURNS. Along with teaching them great classic rock, one of our goals is to help them be “free” to abolish bullying through mentoring fellow members and accepting ALL people regardless of age, gender, race, social status, or sexual orientation. They learn the value of “giving back” to the community and have fun doing it! 3RD° BURNS is open to young people anywhere in Lapeer & Genesee counties and beyond. We have also given out 45,000 dollars in scholarship/grant funds to
further members’ education at college or trade school (details at www.y-m-c.org/scholarships). 3RD° BURNS has performed all over Michigan for the past 17 years and ‘Rocked the House’ wherever they play. Every audience is amazed at how great they are and the energy they put into their performances. In 2019 3RD° BURNS was selected as a backup band for country music star Dierks Bentley at the PGA’s Ally Challenge.

3RD° BURNS is the GREATEST classic Rock & Roll band in Michigan.
Since those early days, over 500 young musicians have participated in the YMC! Today, the 3rd° BURNS bands include over 60 members and perform almost every weekend from June to September all over the state of Michigan. Our venues include Royal Oak Arts Beats & Eats, Ann Arbor Art Fair, Frankenmuth Auto Fest, Lapeer Days, and many other events in the area.
